I'm not sure I have a good answer for this question. I always take a break after I finish writing a book. Sometimes that lasts a few weeks and other times a few months. Sooner or later, I simply think it's time to start writing again. Once I'm working on a book, I set aside a few hours every evening and write because once I start something - anything - I have to work on it until it's finished.
