Goodreads asked Sheila Rae Myers:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Sheila Rae Myers Since my first novel, I always thought it would be fun to write a story in which Jake (the detective) and Clarissa (his wife and a veterinarian) would be able to work a case together and each of them learns a little more about how they each do their jobs. That was the main thing. I've also always been interested in the stories of Bigfoot so I decided to work that into the plot. I'm sure some people will think that's silly, but "Wood Walker" isn't about hunting Sasquatch - it's about solving crimes. I just think it's a fun look at some of the various myths and legends while at the same time trying to solve a mystery.
