Ashley asked Miranda Kenneally:

Were you thinking of the Rick Springfield song when you were writing Jesse's Girl? I just heard it on the radio and then I thought, wait...Miranda Kenneally has a book coming out called Jesse's Girl!

Miranda Kenneally Hi Ashley - I've actually been working on JESSE'S GIRL for several years. For a while I was calling it "Harmony" and then it was "Best Day Ever." I even considered calling it "Maya and Jesse's Day Off." It wasn't until after I had finished writing the book that we figured out the final title. Romance author Tiffany Reisz went to a baseball game and the song "Jesse's Girl" came on over the loudspeakers. Tiffany had read my book, so when she heard the song she sent me a message and said, "You have to name your book Jesse's Girl!" It was a perfect idea because Maya, the main character, is an 80s freak. I was so happy when my publisher agreed it was a great title!
Thanks for your question. :)
