Okay, I fast forwarded through this audio book and I still have questions. Please don't make me read/listen to the whole book. I just can't. 1. Who was the father of Emily's baby? 2. Who murdered Emily? 3. Who killed Frances? Why? 4. Did the killer give her the foretelling fortune? 5. Why was Annie's mother disinherited? 6. Did anyone else wish Elva was in every chapter?

The "Why" was because Joe suspected Frances would turn his mother in to the police, plus murdering Frances would "free" Rose since Rose was obsessed with being Frances' friend.

Also for 6. I didn't care for Elva. She was barely present after the initial scene of them finding the corpse, so I had no attachment to her either way. (less)
