Angela asked Melanie Dickerson:

I'm currently reading the Merchant's Daughter and I love it! I loved Healer's Apprentice as well. It's so hard to find fantastic Christian medieval fiction. I have to say as I am reading Merchant's Daughter I am loving the connection to the fairy tale. I simply love fairy tales so I am loving these books. Did any movie adaptations inspire you as well? What versions or editions of the fairy tales inspire you?

Melanie Dickerson Hi, Angela! I get inspired sometimes by watching the Disney movie versions, but I also try to read the original story from the Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson. I mull over the premise of the story and incorporate some of the plot points and character traits from the different versions, and I add and change other things about it to suit me and my story version. :-)
Thanks, Angela! Keep reading! :-)
