In the end, many are culpable - some more than others. I thought the author illustrated that well. Who was guilty of Cora's death? Bella actually gave her the mushrooms - who was guilty of Francisca's death? herself or Eddie? etc. IMO, Michelle took them there, to get them out of the way, locked them up as retribution for the sexual assaults. Maybe not in the plan as Francisca actually lit the fire - but guilty because she could have told Eddie they were there. (less)
