It's here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Penric and the Bandit, just found it for Kindle on Amazon.) (Yes, I realize that multiple exclamation marks are a sign of a diseased mind, according to Pratchett. But I toned this message down; originally it was all caps. Can I have some credit for that?)

Mark's my absolute favorite character of the series, and I've got a question about his psychology. I've taken a few undergrad level psych courses and wondered did you base it off of mental fragmentation, or do you base it off a real mental illness that maybe I haven't heard of? And one more question: do you see Mark and Kareen ever getting married? I loooooove them together, so I've always been curious.

Other than being raised with a strong moral code and sense of noblesse oblige, it seems that despite the Council of Counts and the Ministers, the only real check of the Emperor’s power is the threat of the Emperor becoming disliked enough to send enough popular support over to a relative to win a coup, hence Yuri’s Massacre and Barrayar’s stated bloody history. Or has there been a balancing act of power shifts?

I just finished the 3rd Penric story - I have to say these are just getting better; Des and Penric are a wonderful pairing. I am fascinated by the possibilities. I especially like the "conservation of entropy" idea in how a chaos demon and its rider work together, which can go so many different directions, from subtle chemistry (catalyst?) to gross physical manifestations. I hope this gets explored more.
