I really like multiple POVs, because it can be so fascinating to see the same events through more than one character's eyes. I write some of my novels in first person, some in third. Now and then I write a whole novel from one character's POV. But two is more common and comfortable for me. And in Pay It Forward we had quite a number of viewpoint characters. I think this was because it was too big an idea to portray through only one person's eyes.

Ms. Hyde, I have really enjoyed reading your books. Thank you for writing them. Recently I finished Take Me With You, and I found it quite moving and extremely well written. Did you travel through/around all the places that August and the kids went to in order to write such vivid descriptions? And just in general, how do you draw your inspiration for books like this one? What sparked the idea in this case?
