Debk asked Catherine Ryan Hyde:

I loved the book Take Me With You. I came across it by accident when looking for a book on Kindle & was instantly hooked. What a heartwarming story! I was pleasantly surprised to find out you wrote Pay It Forward as I had seen the movie but didn't read the book. Now I want to read all your books. Do you know the ending of a book when you begin writing?

Catherine Ryan Hyde Hi Deb. The answer is: much more than I used to. I used to start writing and figure my way as I went along (though I had a fair idea where I wanted to end up). Lately I've been presenting new books to my editor based on a synopsis and sample. When you have to sit down and synopsize an idea, you get to know it pretty well. Sometimes things come up that I didn't expect until I got deep into the work, but I've never had one significantly change the ending I planned.
