Hello! Minor Vorkosigan question here, but all of the armsmen whose family names we learn are proles not Vor. Is the status of armsmen barred to Vor (due to conflicting oaths), or were armsmen historically of the Vor caste and the prevalence of proles a consequence of the opening of the military and new institutions like ImpSec and the municipal guard?

Armsmen are traditionally proles from the count's own district, yes. This custom presumably extends back into and from the Time of Isolation. I expect, as with all things on Barrayar, there have been exceptions.

Are you worried that spending a lot of time communicating with your fans, especially in answering questions about older works, keeps you from getting back to writing and getting into the mood for something unrelated to past books? I have realized that if i spend too much time noodling on the Internet and Facebook and Goodreads, I don't get much else done for the day.
