Is there any chance for Blanche to get a Would-Be-Wallflower story (and thus the continuation of Lydia’s salacious story)? I will read whatever you write, I just love reformed mean-girl stories!

Hi there! I won't go back to Blanche and definitely not to Lydia -- I appreciate a good reformed mean-girl story too, but they're complicated to write. The original mean girl has to be written in such a way that her pain is more evident than her meanness. Lydia's actions and attitude toward her brother are nastier than I could redeem. Blanche, on the other hand, I could redeem--and to a certain extent, I do already-- but I don't think I'll go back to that series. I have a new one starting next spring with the Last Lady B that I hope you love! all best, Eloisa

Hi Eloisa! I just finished reading My American Duchess. I really really really liked the bit in which Lady Peel tells Mr. Kestril to eff off re: cosmetics. Are you as fed up as me with the whole "taking her to the pool on the first date"/"girls shouldn't wear makeup" stuff (all of this shielded (or not) behind a annoyingly patronizing "you look better natural")?
