As I begin to read Free Falling after reading the series thus far in the chronological timeline of the Vorkosigan family, I wanted to express my gratitude for your creation. My dad read this series as a kid (I am 24) and not only has this series formed a camaraderie between us as we bonded over Miles and his adventure, but this series reminded me of my love of reading. I just realized that Miles in The Warrior's Apprentice is the Wizard of Oz! Elena the Scarecrow needs an education. Arde the Tin Man is emotionally dependent on wormhole jumps and his "bottle of oil", the green booze. Baz Jesek is, of course, the Cowardly Lion. Miles convinces them that they already have it in them, and flies away in a balloon while the Dendarii cheer. There's no place like Barrayar! Am I close?

Hello! I am doing my first read through of the Vokosigan Saga, and in The Vor Game, there is the Laskowski base. In High School, I had a math teacher/mentor/friend, George Laskowski, who also wrote a sci-fi zone, Lan's Lantern. Is this base named for him? If so, that's quite an honor (and a well deserved one, in my opinion. He was a great person), from such a distinguished author as yourself!
