Laurel Ellis
Laurel Ellis asked James Islington:

Hi James! I got into Licanius through Michael Kramer audiobook, and WotM is currently my all-time fave book. I have two (slightly silly) questions: 1) There's a lot less 'acceding', 'inclined their head', 'companionable silence', and 'wry smiles' in WotM. How much of that is your natural growth as a writer vs the editor forcing you to change it? 2) Do you consider the name Dioggo (for Diago the Alupi) to be canon?

James Islington 1) That was me being aware of it, and making a conscious effort to improve my prose / avoid repeat phrases moving into a new series. Happy to say that my editor didn't need to pull me up on that one at all!

2) Absolutely.
