Lois McMaster Bujold:
In Wot5G as the Gods are real but not material, how much are theology/religious beliefs from divine inspiration vs man-made? Could someone create a new theology (aside from Quadrene)? Start a weird sex cult? Claim to be a priest from a distant land with different gods that can intervene directly/cure disease/bestow good fortune, etc (for donations)? Would they eventually get stopped by a real divine/saint/sorcerer/god?

The underlying godly reality is real, any flourishes mainly devoted to status competitions are human-made.
Yes, people could make all the same kinds of bogus claims that infest our world. Especially toxic ones might be stopped by someone. I've had some notions on that score for Penric's missions, but they haven't gone anywhere yet. Or, y'know, be stopped by time, of which the gods have much.

Is there any chance of Penric & Desdemona being published in paperback or hardback compilations? I hate ebooks

Reading Erin Morgenstern's *The Night Circus* with my teenage daughter. Reading aloud increases my admiration for the writer as I feel the careful way she has chosen each word. It's the same with Tolkien or Rowling. I haven't read your books aloud; but when you read chapters in public or I hear the audiobooks, they sound like they are made to be heard. Do you read your own books aloud before a final copy?

My Dad and I started reading your books in the late 1980s. His favorite character was Ivan Vorpatril. My Dad would have love Captain Vorpatril's Alliance. Have you considered writing a book where Ivan is the ambassador to Jackson Hole? Thank you for all your books over the years. I actually read Cryoburn to my Dad at his hospital bedside. I still cry when I read the dribbles at the end. Good memories.
