Are you able to share if you will be going on tour for the Strength of the Few ?
James Islington
There have been some very preliminary discussions, but no details or anything confirmed yet... the equation's significantly more complicated because I live in Australia, so it's really going to be up to the publisher. But if they decide to organise something, I'll certainly be on board (and post details on the blog here)!

I just read the first book in the Hierarchy series and I loved it. I can't decide whether I like the characters or the story and the world building more. So I guess my question is this: Did you have a character (Vis) in mind first and then built the world and the story around the character or the other way around?

James: Like so many here I’ve been obsessed with the world you are created. I wonder if you can respond to this question or is it a ‘stay tuned’ kind of answer, but here goes nothing. What is Synchronous? My best guess is that it is one’s ability the ability to connect to other copies of self in all three worlds, in a way existing a processing all three at the same time. Hot? Cold? Thank you for opening these forums!

Hi James! I got into Licanius through Michael Kramer audiobook, and WotM is currently my all-time fave book. I have two (slightly silly) questions: 1) There's a lot less 'acceding', 'inclined their head', 'companionable silence', and 'wry smiles' in WotM. How much of that is your natural growth as a writer vs the editor forcing you to change it? 2) Do you consider the name Dioggo (for Diago the Alupi) to be canon?
