I had two unfinished, unrelated stories written years ago and years apart. I got the idea for my most recent book when I realized that the two stories belonged together. One was a light socket, the other was a light bulb. Apart they were useless. Together, they made a very nice, bright light. (I should point out that my "most recent book," untitled as yet, won't be in print a year or more.)
