I always have more than one writing project going at a time. I believe in "project block" but not writer's block. The blinking cursor was a bigger deal in the early days, and not something I stumble over any longer. So maybe writers early in the craft can take some hope from that. Another tip: before you go to bed at night, look back at the last scene you wrote and any notes on the next scene you'll write. Sleep on it. You'll get a better start with your writing the next day.
