Goodreads asked S.R. Crawford:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

S.R. Crawford One of three ways. One: do a writing prompt for something completely off topic. Writing prompts can be found everywhere. Go on Pinterest - there's loads. Once you've wrote about something random, you'll find that your creative juices will be flowing!
Two: tear a scene apart. I go through the scene listing which characters need to be in it, where it could take place, what needs to happen and then fill in the gaps. Often you find that knowing who, what, where, when and why is harder than actually writing the scene.
Then lastly: I simply walk away. Don't force it, you'll only upset yourself. If it's not working, walk away and come back later.
