Edward, thank you for asking a question that contains many ideas. In response I’ll share what’s most important to me. I’ll bring up several points, in the order that seems most important to me. In that way I can do my best to include all you Goodreaders in my response, I’m going to lay out basic concepts. That way can move forward together. Then will come the REALLY FUN PART.
I’ll give examples to illustrate how service to your (hypothetical) friend Sam would become progressively more worthwhile, depending on which form of “Deeper Perception” you used.
Keep reading and you’ll find out why, imo, nothing else comes close to the degree of helpfulness and insight that flow from doing Skilled Empath Merge.
Now, let’s explore those basics. Although not as fun as the last part of my answer to you, EDWARD, if we skip over those basics it isn’t a shortcut. More like carrying a bucket home from the village well, only the particular bucket being used contains a great big hole.

About Service to Others
In theory, all good people like the idea of helping others. What is less often understood?
Good service to others must meet a need in the other person, be a form of service that is meaningful to the recipient.
“Service to Others” should not mean inflicting My Big Idea on other people who aren’t necessarily interested.
For example, just yesterday I was hanging out on Facebook. A stranger I’ll call “Gladys” intended to be of service to me. Gladys criticized something of a general nature that I had posted. Then, out of the blue, she gave me this unsolicited advice:
“There is no wisdom I can see in this. Read up on psychology and personal growth, a spiritual path and make the world a better place.”
To any of my 5,000 friends on Facebook, her advice might have set off quite a few LOLs.
How come? Gladys didn’t know that my life – and career -- are already devoted to this – except for her interest in pop psychology.
Effective service to others must include knowing something about that person one aims to “improve.” 😉
What follows from that? Whatever will allow us to understand other people better, really know and understand them… Of course that makes it possible for us to be of service, authentic service. Not just making a nice gesture, but something that could really help the other person.
About the Purpose of Your Life.
“Purpose” has got to be one of the sexiest ideas around, especially in certain religious communities. Just about everybody longs to know the purpose of my life.
Well, for those of us who were born as empath, it stands to reason that doing Skilled Empath Merge is built right in as something we’re capable of, something important. After all, only 1 in 20 people was born as an empath.
In my view, as the founder of Energy Spirituality®, doing Skilled Empath Merge is the spiritual purpose of being born as an empath.
To be clear, no empath is born knowing how to do Skilled Empath Merge. As the name suggests. This is a skill. Hence the name, SKILLED Empath Merge.

It’s fun. It’s easy. Technically, though, it’s just the beginner’s kind of skill for gaining insight into people. Using the shallowest form of deeper perception! Even though it’s still amazing to learn.
