Goodreads asked C.J. Carter:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

C.J. Carter I don't really get it. Oh sure, sometimes I have a difficult story problem to work out that may slow me down, but it never stops me.

More practically, I employ three strategies: 1) I must know my ending before I start the text; 2) I do a mid-level outline -- not so vague that I'm stumbling about, but not so specific that I can't take detours.; 3) I'll just write anything on the page to get me to where I need to be. I figure it'll have to be rewritten anyway, so why worry about getting it right the first time?
