Christine Feehan I wish I had learned more about the business side of writing. I knew very little about publishing books. I love writing and have always written stories, but I didn't give a lot of thought to publishing and I wish I had.
As far as what makes a "great novel" I would say that, for me. an inspiring novel that gives hope.

I have read nearly all your books. Definitely all the series from start to current. So many different worlds to keep straight. How do you accomplish so much through such a short period each year. Do you have outlines for the overall series and pair up characters or do they tell you their stories and they evolve as you write?
