(view spoiler)[I read your series The Kingdom Chronicles and I always see all of your life lessons in loving yourself and all especially in reflection. How was your experience writing that book? From what I know and Love Rhea is insecure about who she is do you relate to that or how did you incorporate that emotion in that writing? I absolutely love your life lessons in here you made such role models for young girls. (hide spoiler)]
Camille Peters
I am so happy that the life lessons I try to include are able to help my readers and that my characters can be strong role models, as that is very important to me.
I feel all of my characters do contain elements of myself in them—sometimes in small ways (for instance, Evelyn's preference for always being barefoot in "Façade" is one inspired by my own preferences), and in others much bigger ways. While every big difficulty faced by my characters isn't one I've personally experienced, Rhea's journey in loving herself is actually very similar to one I dealt with during my own insecurities as a teenager.
When I haven't experienced a character's particular trial myself, I often know someone who has, so I do my best to make it as real as I can in hopes of helping anyone who may be going through a similar difficulty. I want my stories to not only bring magic to my readers' lives, but also be a source of strength.
