Camille Peters was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah where she grew up surrounded by books. As a child, she spent every spare moment reading and writing her own stories on every scrap of paper she could find. Becoming an author was always more than a childhood dream; it was a certainty.

Her love of writing grew alongside her as she took local writing classes in her teens, spent a year studying Creative Writing at the English University of Northampton, and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in English and History. She’s now blessed to be a full-time author.

When she’s not writing she’s thinking about writing, and when’s she’s not thinking about writing she’s…alright, she’s always thinking about writing, but she can also

I'm so excited to share these upcoming stories! I hope you'll enjoy them! 💗 (less)

(For example, The Kingdom of Sortileya is based on the French word for spell/enchantment, sortilège.) The ones not based on a foreign word I brainstormed with some of my friends. 😊

As for the names of my characters, I wanted to use less common names because I feel like it gives my stories a more fantasy feel, so I frequently peruse baby name lists for names that are unique but not too unusual (though I later found out some were more popular than I realized, like the names Aiden and Liam); some I get from books I've read. A few (like Anwen and Nolan) I originally used for minor characters (ones who later became Reece and Farrell in Voyage), before renaming those characters because I'd fallen in love with the name and wanted to use it for a main character. ☺️

I have a list of character names far longer than I'll ever use, and I frequently agonize over which to use for a main character and which to use for a minor character. In contrast, I don't have near enough names for future places I'm creating, and I'm often struggling to come up with more. But the entire process, though challenging at times, is very fun. 🥰 (less)

“What do you do when you’re hurt?” I stuttered, trying hard to keep my burning tears back so I wouldn’t cry in front of him, even though I had no doubt he’d be a safe person to cry to. “I curse,” he stated matter-of-factly. “And trust me, sailors have some very creative ones. I’d demonstrate, but I’m afraid they’re too indelicate for a lady’s ears.”

I’d demonstrate, but I’m afraid they’re too indelicate for a lady’s ears.” He winked, and my responding snort came out as a half-laugh, half-sob. “Would you be brave enough to ever curse in front of me?” He considered. “I suppose I would if we’re to have a marriage where we can be ourselves around one another and accept one another for who we are, while also encouraging the other to be better.” “So you want a marriage where you’d be comfortable enough that you could curse, but I’d encourage you not to do so in the future?” He grinned, causing me to tentatively smile in return. “Exactly.”
