The incident with Kennedy at the end of the book was just an unfortunate accident, a result of a tussle between her and Peyton over the sharp pizza cutter, and not a suicide attempt by Kennedy, correct? If so, it was annoying that Peyton didn’t explain what really happened, letting everyone believe Kennedy tried to kill herself.

In the end, it plays in Kennedy's favor, as her former friends and coach reach out to her out of sympathy and guilt for how they had treated her previously. They probably wouldn't have had the same reaction if they knew it was simply an accident. (less)
