Jessica I found that part of the story super odd. It seemed VERY weird that neither girl explained what really happened - which was just an unfortunate (and unlikely) accident.
Elena I agree that Peyton stays quiet because she doesn't want to "get in trouble", and Kennedy does because she questions her memories of the event after being gaslighted by Millie that Agatha wasn't there. In the end, it plays in Kennedy's favor, as her former friends and coach reach out to her out of sympathy and guilt for how they had treated her previously. They probably wouldn't have had the same reaction if they knew it was simply an accident.
judith Peyton didn't want to get blamed & so just kept quiet when Kennedy herself chose not to "explain." Kennedy didn't care anymore what anyone thought, she just wanted to get out of there.
