Should I reread The Searcher before reading The Hunter, or can I read it as a standalone? I remember only very basic plot points.

Jessica A lot came back to me about the first book as I was reading this one. It is not necessary to reread The Searcher.
Rebecca Roberts You wouldn't necessarily have to, but I did, just to refresh my memory of the setting and characters. Enjoyed both but I do feel "The Hunter" was the better of the two just for the wrap up ending.
judith I think The Searcher should be read first to understand how Cal's relationships with Trey, Lena, & the townspeople developed, but if you still have a sense of that it's probably not necessary to re-read it.
Beth Eisenberg Helpful but not necessary
