Woman’s dog introduced on first page. In my experience this means trouble coming in connection with dog. Is the dog, or any other animal, injured, abused, hurt in the book? Is it about actual hunters with guns shooting at animals? This is important to me so will truly appreciate answers. Thanks.

Otherwise the book and plot are very character driven with dangers more implied and anticipated than described or graphic.(less)
