(view spoiler)[Thank you! The main things Kori/Isaac have in common with Emily/me:
- We met via Church World (specifically, in our case via the Tooth & Nail Records scene).
- We were long-distance for a time, but never particularly doubted we'd make it past that. Purely for story reasons, I arrived at Kori and Isaac living apart (because Kori's victory is about leaving to do what she wants to do), but personal experience taught me that their relationship didn't need to end at that point. (Frankly, I tried really hard to break them up. I never defaulted to them staying together. They defeated even me.)
- Our religious viewpoints veered apart. Emily and I didn't talk about religion through our twenties and well into our thirties, but we knew we'd become very different. And at no point did she ask me to re-become the Christian she'd married.
Kori's not based on anyone (the same goes for all my characters), but certainly shares with Emily a spirit of selflessness (which, as Emily would tell you, can become harmful). (hide spoiler)]

[Answering questions that I wasn't able to get to during our book launch party.] From Will: "This book is specifically evangelical, but what are the commonalities you see in culture (if not degree) across different faiths? What should we be worried about with evangelicalism growing in political importance, and how can exvangelicals and other religious refugees stop it?"
