I wasn't surprised or disappointed that the characters came back. We have to remember that this was pre-internet, when long-distance phone calls were very expensive, when news came to us much more slowly than it does today. Jamie was never pronounced dead as far as we know. And when he was released from being a POW, he went to his family, so it's not that strange that Frankie didn't know he survived. I love that he kept Frankie's stone all those years.(less)
