Goodreads asked Becky Wilde:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Becky Wilde My advice to aspiring writers is to read, read and read some more. If you only want to write for a specific genre, then read as many books from that genre as you can.
Also write every day. It doesn’t matter how many words or what you write. It doesn’t matter if it’s dribble and you end up deleting it.
Writing every day gets the creative juices flowing.
Never give up on your dream and though it can be difficult to keep dejection at bay if your stories are rejected, don’t stop submitting your completed manuscript to publishers. You don’t know the reason for the rejection. They may have a too many authors on their books at that time, too many books to manage.
One day you might be surprised with an acceptance email/letter.
Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t.
