Hi! I absolutely love your books, I got the Rose Legacy trilogy for Christmas ;) I was just wondering how old Anthea is in Rider's Reign?

That's actually a hilariously complicated question!
So the thing is: she's a teenager. *sshhhhhh!*
BUT. Because the books are PG-rated, and "of interest to pre teen readers" (because of the talking horses) they're classed as "upper middle grade."
BUT. If her age appears prominently in the books, Barnes & Noble and libraries would put them in the YA section.
BUT. Then some pre teen readers wouldn't be able to read it, because parents might hesitate to buy a teen book for a younger reader, and elementary/middle school libraries wouldn't stock it, readers might not think to look there, etc.
AND. Teen readers who like the edgier teen books would be like, What's this? This isn't YA! Where's the kissing? And the murder?
SO. I had to sort of "hand wave" her age. The same goes for the Dragon Slippers books, which are considered suitable for even younger readers, but the characters are OLD and MARRIED in the end and no one seems to notice because hey, talking dragons!
