Michael Fedor You need to find your voice, first and foremost. Second, improve your craft so there is no question that readers find reading your work enjoyable. Speaking of readers, the last most important first step for an aspiring writer is to very clearly define who you're writing for. If you can nail that down, then you can begin to focus on writing the type of story they want to buy and read. There is so much opportunity out there for people who love to tell great stories. It is hard work - go into it eyes wide open about that and when you get discouraged, lean on your fellow writers.
