Rose Rosetree:
Hello! I have read Seeking Enlightenment in the Age of Awakening and found it so interesting. Why did you decide to call this time "The Age of Awakening" rather than the "Age of Enlightenment" or anything else? I figure there may be an interesting reason. Thank you so much, the book helped me a lot.
Rose Rosetree
Hello back, Tomas, and what a wonderful way to meet you personally, through your interesting question!
Before I answer, here’s a request for a bit later… while you’re fresh as a reader of this Ask the Author Q&A. May I invite you to answer a question from me, answering after you’ve read what follows here? My question would be: What is one idea or aspect of Seeking Enlightenment in the Age of Awakening that was interesting to you?
I’d enjoy knowing that. You see, to readers, a nonfiction book can be just a book, one of a gazillion titles here on Goodreads. But for me, this particular book is the summary of years of work, inquiry, helping different clients to move into Spiritual Enlightenment; then cramming the best I had to offer into that book: writing and editing and rewriting. Actually, this particular book set a personal record, since I edited it 17 times… in addition to a professional developmental edit and copy edit.
Long story short, I packed so much leading-edge knowledge into this particular book. No wonder I’m curious to hear from you – or other Goodreaders, for that matter… What, in particular, landed for you?
And now, on to answer your question, Tomas.
An Unexpected Answer Perhaps, But Here It Is
I didn’t exactly “decide” to call this second era on Earth "The Age of Awakening."
Undoubtedly every single author on Goodreads, and beyond, has a personal set of skills for writing. And that’s different from how we think and speak in everyday life. Like, if I were a plumber, I’d have some different ways of using my hands to unclog a drain, compared to what non-plumbers can do with their hands.
In everyday life I make choices and decide things, of course. I name things, like my wonderful new computer. None of that, though, is the same process as writing anything for publication. Over the decades, writing anything in my field is a very distinctive process.
In My Field? And That’s Really Different from Being a Plumber?
As you may know, the field that I’ve founded is called “Energy Spirituality®.” What is that name supposed to mean?
Energy Spirituality helps people like you, Tomas, with emotional growth and spiritual awakening, using skills that work now, in the Age of Awakening.
One of these underlying skills is to cocreate with the Divine. For simplicity, I’ll call that "God." Energy Spirituality includes many different ways to cocreate with God, depending upon the context.
Back to how I found the name “Age of Awakening,” I was writing my first book on how to thrive in this second era on Earth, The New Strong.
So What Is It Like to Cocreate an Energy Spirituality Book? Or to Cocreate a Name for the Central Topic of a Book?
In particular, how did I cocreate the name for the era that started with the Shift on Dec. 21, 2012? Generally speaking, there was a need to be of service to somebody… in the context of Energy Spirituality.
So there I was one morning, here in my little pink office. I was doing my writing for the morning. As usual, I was using skills for cocreating with God: Rose (the human writer) plus God (the very present inspiration).
After searching on terms like “Age of Enlightenment” and “Age of Aquarius,” I realized a better name was needed.
Why? I invite you Goodreaders to ask about any alternative name you think might work. Go ahead, COMMENT below and ask. Then I’ll COMMENT back and share my opinion about why that particular term may be popular, but I don’t find it up to the job. 😉
So, there I was, cocreating for my book on , The New Strong. Quietly, with zero fanfare – as usual -- the name simply arrived in my consciousness. I wrote it down. And there it was: “The Age of Awakening.”
Incidentally, Tomas and other Goodreaders, feel free to ask about the significance of “Awakening” in future Ask the Author Q&As. I’ll be glad to go into my current understandings about that.
One Q&A at a time, though, right? We’re done for now. Again, thanks for asking, Tomas.

Hi Rose - I appreciate that you answer questions! “Empath Empowerment in 30 Days” was incredibly useful for me. You presented ideas I haven’t heard anywhere else. My favorite new idea involves unskilled empath merge, how it works. You even included illustrations. How did you make this discovery? What do you wish every empath could understand about unskilled empath merge? Thank you!! Valerie

Dear Rose, I’m currently reading (and loving) the 2nd edition of “Bigger Than All the Night Sky.” A question occurred to me while reading about your Planning Meeting before birth where you were reminded that “illusions on earth are necessary.” Here is my question: “Why are illusions on earth necessary and how do they help us evolve spiritually?” Thank you, Valerie
