A Goodreads user asked Kendal Waller:

What advice would you give a male aspiring author in a field like romance so dominated by female authors? Should I use a pen name or any tips?

Kendal Waller That is such a big question. I've used my real name for my first 4 novels but have considered using a pen name for future work but that is a decision for another day. Consider publishing and promoting your work and if you will be comfortable with anyone knowing that is you. Putting your work out there is very scary so sometimes I can understand a pen name.

As far as writing in a female dominated genre. Don't hold back. There is nothing saying a man can't write wonderfully eloquent and beautiful work. I think of authors like F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby) or even someone from today's Taylor Sheridan... both phenomenal writers with a huge female following.

Not to mention, depending upon the quality of your work you being a male in the industry will separate you in an extremely saturated market. Good luck.
