I have discovered audiobooks and they have changed my life! I no longer dread long drives, I look forward to them. I own all your books in both print and e-book so I am using the library for the audio versions. The problem is the name pronunications. Some are not at all like I thought so it sounds like a different person. How do YOU pronounce dy Ferrej? Both parts...
Lois McMaster Bujold
Ayup, sometimes the narrators call me to get my pronunciations, sometimes they don't.
I pronounce dy Ferrej as dee Fer-ezjh, French J not Spanish.
...I can usually tell when someone is from the west of southwest when they give my name the Spanish j, Boo-hold. Nope, French, Bu-zjhold.

Hi Lois: I'm 100% new to this. Just published my book: Antebellum Struggles" with KDP. I don't know how my book appeared on Goodreads, but I'm glad it did. It's an "African-American historical fiction" novel on slavery and plantation drama in 1852. I've googled "How to get book reviews?" 'til I'm blue in the face. Any suggestions would be soooo appreciated. Thanks.

In Shards of Honor, what was the role of the chief surgeon as the second agent in Emperor Ezar’s plan? Surely not just to corroborate Aral’s opportunistic explanation to Illyan of obtaining the Plasma Mirror information from Cordelia under interrogation drugs too late to help or cancel the invasion (Cordelia’s capture could not have been foreseen). Something to do with the Prince?
Thanks!

So rereading Penric and the Fox, the first scene kinda of made me think about Memory and Miles ans Simon fishing scene... and it made me wonder about it. Fishing for these two set of characters seemed to be the perfect excuse to drink cold alcoholic beverage under the sun. I've never fished in my life so I have no clue, but I wondered where it comes from ? Personnal experience, inside joke, writer's licence?
