Teresa R. Kemp
I have had to deal with writers block off and on for many years. I didn't come up with a way to get over it, life kept getting in my way. My health challenges of colon cancer impacted my ability to keep my museum open, research, write and care for myself.
After I begin to recover, another set back with congestive heart failure, then my parents died! We....I had waited too long. My parents and I had been researching, traveling, collecting and writing for over 25 years. We had never published our work in books, but did historic presentations and gave out parts of it to patrons of our exhibits. With my parents gone, there is no one else who has the information. While my memory is back (chemo brain has cleared), I can type! I have to hurry and try to get the books out.
I have been advised, it is not wise to put out so many books at one time. I now know, I don't have unlimited time. Since it is not about profit they will be published as soon as I can finish them. I must make sure our culture and heritage are accurately documented, for the future generations, whenever they are completed.
I will have spoken for the voiceless. I will tell their story and you will see the majesty of their works and love of our faith, family and service to mankind. On those, there is never a time limit.
You must feel that what you write about is important and is needed. Get up every day with a renewed passion to deliver what is in your heart. When you have writer's block...pretend you are telling me the information. You can email me if you like and run it by me. You matter and so do your experiences, thoughts and ideas. Your work is just what someone needs and they are waiting on it. On to your success!
We have chosen education as a bridge to understanding.
