When we would give talks about our previous book, people kept asking us: "So what can I do? How can I make a difference?" And so we wanted to answer them. It seems to us that a lot of folks would like to give back in some way but worry about corruption or inefficiency. Or the problems in the world seem too vast for one person to have an impact. But we think it's quite possible to make a difference--by paying for a girl's uniform so she can go to school, by paying for a pair of glasses so a kid can see the blackboard, by paying for trachoma surgery so someone can see. We wanted to share these ideas--hence A Path Appears!

In the Chapter that discusses Mukhtar’s School, it is clear that education is still not seen as a necessity in some countries, do you think that the school mukhtar built and her resilience will improve things?
