Lois McMaster Bujold:
Will The Assassins of Thasalon ever be published as a mass market paperback? I prefer a book in my hand rather than an ebook. (Sorry if you've already addressed this.)
Lois McMaster Bujold
At this time, I don't know. It has aged out of its license period at Subterranean Press, so a reprint is contractually possible. Because it's a shortish novel, and "Knot of Shadows" is a shortish novella, I thought the two would make a good compendium pairing, a 4th Pen & Des omnibus volume, and we have indeed marketed them that way for foreign rights under the title Penric's Intrigues, not that foreign publishers don't change the titles anyway. So far it's sold to Japan, where the prior volumes have done OK. "Knot of Shadows" is not out of its SubPress 1-year US license yet, though, having only come out this past January. So, we'll all have to wait and see.

Lois McMaster Bujold:
A long time ago, I asked you about feeling "bookicidal" (your word) about my own work. Your answer was empathetic, and I've carried it gratefully all these years. But now I have pressing financial concerns and a beta-reader who is so uninterested that she wants me to send her the Cliff's notes. I can't pander to that: I can only despair in its wake. Where do I find the courage to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear?

Have you had a chance to read the murderbot series by Martha Wells? what do you think? it’s the second series I’ve really enjoyed that is a collection of novellas. Your Penric books are the first. are you considering a full length penric novel? I see a novel length murderbot book it available now ... no pressure! I’m happy to have just found penric in Japanese on apple books. Nice cover. I’ll enjoy studying again!
