Is this book clean? Are there any open door sex scenes, any scenes more than kissing? Any swearing? What would you say the minimum age appropriateness would be for this book?

My biggest concern would be the rape threats a few time, not explicit but clear. Plus there’s a component to it that’s really awful. Definitely not for younger readers. It’s actually pretty clean other than that which always annoys me when a book would otherwise be appropriate for a younger audience. I remember one F word for sure that jumped out at me and surprised me since I think it was really clean otherwise. Definitely no sex or anything graphic. What’s an open door sex scene?

First, I haven’t read the book, so I’m not speaking from personal experience. Here’s my take: “Clean” is not a well-defined criteria in the world of literature. From my understanding, a book is clean if it contains no profanity and no romantic encounters beyond kissing. Technically, if there’s language, it isn’t clean. But I heard nearly every swear word in English while riding my junior high bus, and many YA books include more, ahem, “intimacy” scenes. If you’re looking for a 10yo, I wouldn’t recommend it. But 13-plus might be OK.

not sure the age... It's very low on romance and only talks about like one dream very briefly and does not go into detail... for its lack of spice it has a bit of language sprinkled at random throughout.
