Cal Newmann
Cal Newmann asked Jessica Day George:

I am currently rereading Princess of the Silver Woods and I cannot believe how good it is--it came out during a bad time in my life so I don't actually remember reading it the first time. I can tell I am appreciating it so much more now than I would have then. Would you ever consider writing something that delves into the worldbuilding of Ionia? I'm fascinated with the dynamic between Walter Vogel and the "good frau."

Jessica Day George I'm sorry you had a bad time, I hope things are going better now!

You make me have the sudden urge write about two crazy friends, Walter and Hildegarde, racketing around Ionia four hundred years earlier . . . It's certainly something to think about, although I have several manuscripts in production right now, and none of them are that.

Walter Vogel is actually based on the German writer Walther von der Vogelweide, and I decided (after the fact, because I learned some things about her) that the good frau was Hildegarde von Bingen. So you could always look up the real people, they were super interesting!
