To get started, and if you already have, to keep going! Keep tinkering. Do a little bit every day. But also realise it's hard work and it shouldn't really happen overnight. I've been working on my stories for eight years and they're still not perfect! Take the time to really get to know your characters - really engage in depth when writing the profiles. Flesh things out. Write scenes in draft to see if they work. Explore. Play. Have fun! And always write for you. Its your story, nobody else's!
