Luke Phillips Hi Jeffrey. Thank you very much for the kind words regarding Daughters of the Darkness. And apologies for the long delay in replying to your question - I have had issues with my Author dashboard.

However, in short, the answer is...hopefully not. I hope to have it out by the end of 2018. I am about 15,000 words in, and making good progress.

Many thanks again for the kind words.
Luke Phillips Hi Jeffrey, I'm so sorry. For some reason, Goodreads doesn't alert me to questions! I'll answer your very patient line of queries all in one go. The answer is, within the next two weeks as of today. Hopefully sooner. I'm just waiting on the cover to be finished, and for a final proof read and quote. I'll be making it available as soon as possible. Thank you for hanging in there!
Luke Phillips Hi Jeffrey its with beta-readers and the cover designer, so it really isn't long now. Honest!
Luke Phillips So do I Jeffrey. Thank you for your continued patience. Cover design and final edits are taking place now. I hope to have it out by September at the very latest. Thank you so much for reading and urging me to get a move on!
Luke Phillips Hi Samantha. Final edits and cover design are taking place as we speak. But if you go to the following link, you'll be able to read the first chapter. I am hoping to have it out by September at the very latest. Thank you so much for reading and for your patience! https://blackbeastsandboogeymen.com/2...
Luke Phillips I started investigating the world of Britain's mysterious big cats about eight years ago. There had been a flurry of reports in my local area and I couldn't help wondering what people were seeing. As I looked into the conspiracies surrounding the 1976 wild animals act, spoke to witnesses and finally let my imagination run wild, it was clear there was a story here, and one that hadn't really been told. That's where the ideas behind Shadow Beast came from.
Luke Phillips By the natural world in most part. I'm in awe of what nature can do, especially when red in tooth and claw. But I also get completely drawn in by the other stories that come out of the woods from time to time. The camp fire tales of bigfoot, big cats and werewolves. I'm intrigued by their origin, tenacity and their apparent real-life basis.
Luke Phillips I'm currently working on a sci-fi/horror set in the world's oceans. Mankind's abuse of the planet is about to be challenged! I'm also tinkering with the sequel to Shadow Beast, my first novel.
Luke Phillips To get started, and if you already have, to keep going! Keep tinkering. Do a little bit every day. But also realise it's hard work and it shouldn't really happen overnight. I've been working on my stories for eight years and they're still not perfect! Take the time to really get to know your characters - really engage in depth when writing the profiles. Flesh things out. Write scenes in draft to see if they work. Explore. Play. Have fun! And always write for you. Its your story, nobody else's!
Luke Phillips Being able to create worlds, characters and in my case creatures that I've always wanted to see!
Luke Phillips Living in the Kent countryside, I am very lucky to be able to escape into the woods and clear my head. I think its also important to remember that creativity can't be a normal 9-5 job. There's no point writing when there's nothing coming. Accept its time to stop and do something else instead - that's almost always when you'll get hit by the thunderbolt anyway!
