Goodreads asked Jeremiah Beck:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Jeremiah Beck In 1998, I first read about "hyperthymesia" - now referred to as HSAM, or "hyper superior autobiographical memory" - which directly led to the creation of my main character Jeremy Peoples in the novel "Recollection." From there, I found inspiration in real life circumstances, movies and my own imagination. However, I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that "A Prayer for Owen Meaney" was a huge thematic influence, along with Pink Floyd and the movie "Talk Radio."
