Anna Avian
Anna Avian asked Adam Gaffen:

Why did you feel the need to lie to people and go through such an elaborate plan to pose as a lesbian (AC Adams), to invent a fictional family, a wife, a degree and so on? I do understand using a pen name for whatever reasons, but inventing a fake person AND interacting with people on a personal level through it, what was the actual point of that?

Adam Gaffen This is not offered in way of an excuse, but answering your question. As I've said elsewhere, I take responsibility for my actions and regret the harm I've caused.
It was never a plan to create anything more than a mildly believable pen name to write and promote the books. I didn't realize the harm I was causing by interacting with people at the time. If I could go back and change things, I would, but I can't. I have removed the books from Amazon and plan to make amends going forward, though I haven't figured out how yet. I am talking with people in the community and listening to them and their concerns and suggestions, not to earn back trust (which I realize is broken) but to avoid hurting people like this in the future.
