Started reading Unhallowed a few days ago, then just now noticed Widdershins on my to-read list. How do these series intersect? Should I be reading Whyborne and Griffin first?

Unhallowed takes place 8 years after Whyborne & Griffin. I tried to write it so that you can start with either series first and enjoy it without having to be familiar with the lore.
