Hi Chris, I enjoy ALL your books and appreciate you. I grew up in Belmont, MA, next door to Watertown, where there were many Armenians. Sadly, I had not learned of the Armenian Genocide until I was much older; disappointed in what "history" is taught in schools. Looking forward to your next book; hoping you'll visit Manchester, NH. How many miles a day do you ride your bike? Loving all the photos you take.

Chris Bohjalian Thank you, Janine, for your faith in my work and your kind words about THE SANDCASTLE GIRLS. As a grandson of two survivors of the Armenian Genocide, that novel is extremely important to me.

As for biking, I ride five or six days a week, between 25 and 40 miles a ride.

Is 'Hour of the Witch' a young adult book? I have seen it listed under young adult as I browse through the internet. I am in the midst of reading this excellent story and as I read I think it is definitely an adult book.

I recently finished listening to the Guest Room. It opened my eyes to the world of sex slavery. When you just see the words in writing it doesn't have the impact as actually giving the girls names and making them real people with a real life history. You have been giving names and faces to the suffering that the Armenian people have gone through. Does it help you to bring this to the world?
