Hi, Rick! Just finished TSATS and it's absolutely my favorite book from the entire Riordanverse. I've been a PJO fan for +10 years now and as a bissexual person, it's so amazing to see how you keep giving us stories we can find ourselves within. For that, thank you! And I'd like to ask if you've read "The Song of Achilles" by Madeline Miller and if we're ever going to get our PJO-version of Achilles and Patroclus? <3

Glad you enjoyed it! Here is my review of Song of Achilles, which I read and loved ten years ago: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... It was not published until 2011, however, so no, it did not influence my understanding of Achilles and Patroclus (or Clarisse and Selena) while I was writing the original PJO books (finished in 2010). It never occurred to me that those two could be a romantic couple until I read Miller. She is an incredible writer!

The Greek Gods are very known for being "human" deities with stuff like Pride, Envy, and Lust (mostly Zeus in that regard) dotting their stories. Did that particular characterization of the Pantheon make you lean towards writing about them (especially with the parent and child dynamics) first or did you always plan on tackling Egyptian and later Norse gods also, how was your day?
