Matt asked this question about Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close:
I watched the movie of this book, is it anything different from the book? Am I missing out on something if I don't read the book, but watch the movie?

Part of understanding a work and hopefully loving it all the more is by experiencing it through different perspectives and media. If you read the book and watch the movie, you will have so much more to go by and much more info and impressions so you can form a better, more rounded view of it. Movies tend to omit parts of the plot, which some find a shame, but they also offer completely different interpretations or twists, which you may not always agree with, but are often worth considering. So have fun reading. It's a great book! (less)
