I needed a break from the dark science fantasy world of The Timekeepers' War trilogy after I finished drafting Book 3. I wanted to write something fun and quirky with lots of humour and glittery bits.
The Bubbles in Space series is like a Sci-Fi love letter to Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett and the other hard-boiled noir greats. It's the gritty underbelly of our future, all tarted up for a night on the town.
It still ended up a bit dark. That's just how I roll. But Tropical Punch is fun, first and foremost.
Also, since I quit drinking three years ago I really wanted to write a sober character. And that's how Bubbles was born!
