Roswita asked Chris Marie Green:

Do you ever meet someone casually and end up writing them (or characteristics of them) into your stories? I guess what I mean is, how much of your stories come from real life and how much is from your fevered imagination :-)

Chris Marie Green Hi, Roswita! Thanks so much for asking--and it's a good question, too. :)

I would say that I do this 50% of the time. It really depends on where my mind is at, especially if I'm looking for a new story or plotting one. Someone might have an interesting physical tick that I expand upon for a character or an interesting way of talking. I try hard not to use a lot of personal details (hardships, personal problems) from those I know; I usually read the news or articles for ideas on those sorts of character details. I also "interview" my characters with a set of questions I keep handy, and their lives get fleshed out from that technique.

Thank you so much! I hope I answered your question. :)
